The Cruet Company supplies a full range of the latest Sony, Panasonic and Ikegami digital broadcast camcorders that cover top end highdef production, such as drama, to the other end of the market with the tricky fly on the wall location Mini DV camcorders. We also have a full range of SpyCam items for the more covert production needs.
Equipment maintenance is a high priority at The Cruet Company, so all our inhouse service is done by our ex-Sony engineer Tom Filin, who is also our Engineering Director. All other camera service is done by TopTeks.

Panasonic AJ–HDC27FE Varicam
The AJ–HDC27H, the second-generation variable frame rate HD camera–recorder, is suitable for producing all types of image content. It combines variable frame rates that emulate the speed effects of a film camera with cine gamma image quality that offers the sufficient latitude to take full advantage of the full dynamic range of film theatre projection.
Sony DVW–790WSP Digibeta
Digital Betacam is the format of choice for the production of high quality standard definition programmes. There is an installed base of over 100,000 units worldwide and the format is accepted by the world's most prestigious broadcasters. Digital Betacam camcorders, VTR's and players are in daily use around the world for productions where standard definition quality is the requirement.
Sony DSR–450WSP DVCAM
The widescreen DSR–450WSP adopts three 2/3-inch type Power HAD EX CCD's with a 16:9 aspect ratio to shoot in both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. In addition it further offers 25P progressive mode, selectable gamma with a film–like gamma setting and a slow shutter feature – unique functions that enable even greater shooting creativity. The DSR–450WSP also provides SDI output and an 8–pin remote–control feature.
Ikegami HL–DV7W DVCAM
The HL–DV7W is a high quality digital component recorder recording to DVCAM format with both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio switching. The camera takes both standard and mini-cassette tapes providing a maximum record time of 184 minutes. The HL–DV7W maintains the Ikegami CCD block used in their broadcast range of cameras, so giving the well respected 'Ikegami Camera Look'.
Sony HVR–Z1E DVCAM
The HVR–Z1E is aimed at entry level videographers and documentary makers. HDV is an increasingly attractive option for mainstream broadcasters and corporate programme makers. It is ideal for acquiring HD content in restricted or hard to reach locations. HDV also serves as an ideal source for contributing HD content into an HDCAM environment.
